The Cottage Block embodies Woodstock's rich winemaking heritage and is named after the historic cottage that once stood on our vineyard as home to generations of Collett's.

Nurtured in the cooler, elevated areas of McLaren Vale, this full bodied wine is crafted from old vines that yield concentrated flavours of blackcurrants, sweet plums and choc mint, enriched by structured tannins.

“Rustic aromas of black currants, plums, red currants, bay leaves, dark chocolate and cedar. The palate is full-bodied with fresh acidity and fine, firm tannins, giving flavors of blackberries, cassis, tobacco and graphite. Savory and structured with a long, dry finish. Drink or hold.”

“This comes in the new labelling, but it is firmly in the classic house style, a wine of depth, rich fruit and ample proportions. It’s not extreme with it, but just in a more generous register. There’s certainly a place for that! Blackcurrant, menthol, bay, struck iron, a fringing of hedgerow, the varietal credentials in play, the feel older school with some tertiary interest developing.”
